BANANARAMA FESTIVAL!

at the HALEIWA FARMERS MARKET

Haleiwa Farmers’ Market is celebrating the world’s most popular fruit! Discover the many benefits of this delicious fruit. Learn about the Hawaiian history of the banana.  Pick up some new recipe ideas for bananas. Visit one of the 50 booths of Oahu’s premiere Green Market on the beautiful North Shore and sample some fun food creations made especially for this event- banana sorbet, banana panini, banana bread, banana shave ice, banana crepes, pastele, banana smoothies and more. Guess the weight of the banana bunch, and win a basket of market produce!

Wanda Adams, the Food and Book editor to the Honolulu Advertiser, and author of Entertaining Island Style-101 Great Recipes and Tips from Hawai'i and Island Plate, will be out at the market signing books and telling you about great ways to prepare fresh island produce.

Banana trees, banana tasting, banana recipes, banana leaf, apple bananas, Williams bananas, cooking bananas, dried bananas from Kahuku Farm, fried bananas… everything banana.

Keiki can look forward to pony carriage rides, face-painting and a moonwalk, along with fun activities in Keiki Korner, including "Play With Your Food!" Everyone can enjoy the live music while relaxing in the café.
